But in my blog surfing today I came across this quote by Emerson on Rebecca Sower's blog
"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."A few hours later as I was looking through some older projects I found a photo of this altoid tin that I altered as a gift for a friend.
I figured it was a sign, I needed to write about my love for quotations. I'm not sure when it began, no doubt it dates back to English Literature classes, where I would note excerpts from the books I was studying. And even though I went on to study Sciences and then Engineering, my love of reading and quotations continued. It was just before I entered University that I started keeping a notebook exclusively for quotes. it followed me through my years there, and all the way to St. Lucia. Sadly it must have gotten lost in one of my many moves.
Now I mainly save them electronically. But I really want to get that Rolodex so that I can keep the swap creations by my friends close at hand.

I very much like your first quote, I heard today of an old work friend that took his life...so sad as you say...Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
Thank you!
thats why i love quotes, they are colorful and creative - simply on
their own. but really spice up a work of art too!
happy friday!
I love the daily quote feature on the blog sidebar. What a nice way to view your favorite quotes.
I love your bit of art and the first quote. Really makes you want to start the day well!
Lets take that Emerson quote and make it our theme as we seize the day!
Thank you for the Emerson quote. I'm thinking I'll print in on a nice card and keep it by my bed...what a sane reminder to just let it go.
Boy, Emerson was right on, all the time, wasn't he? I love both of those.
I love quotations too! And i think Emerson was one of the most quotable people on earth. I like his "Don't be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better."
That quote on Rebecca's blog is total inspiration. TFS
I like your first quote. I need to remember that one. Too often I dwell on mistakes I've made. Tomorrow is another day. Thanks!
