Artistic Journey

I've been having lots of fun doing scrapbooking challenges lately. I am trying new things, new styles and seeing how they fit me. I especially enjoy the Scrapjack Blog, which challenges you to "lift" a design of another scrapper. What I love about it is that I am doing things I wouldn't normally do and expanding my horizons. So far I have been inspired by Elsie Flannigan and Amber Skolnick, each of whom have a very unique, fun and funky style.

Another blog I enjoy is the How Much is Too Much Challenge - just how much stuff can you get on a scrapbook page before it's too much? Here is my response to the challenge to use

5 - types of fabric ie ribbon, material, fibers
5- Buttons
5- Rubons
5 - tags
5 - different colors on Layout (at least five colors, use more if need be!!)

Too much fun! The latest challenge is to use items from 20 different manufacturers. I haven't quite wrapped my head around that one yet, but I do plan to give it a go.

When I want to feed my artsy grungy spirit I check out the Dare blog, these ladies always get me thinking. I did this layout as my Bold Statement. I really am ready for Spring!

Sketches are always a good way to jump start your creativity, and Janelle has been sharing some great ones on her Sketch This blog. As soon as I saw Sketch #3 I knew it wasperfect for these photos of sunflowers that I took last summer.

Other challenges on my list of things to do this week include Journaler's Junction journaling challenges, and the How Dare You (also known as the Aussie Dares) Inspired by Asia challenge. One thing's for sure, there is no lack of inspiration out there if you're in a rut!
