Empty spot

This photo explains why I haven't blogged the last few days. That's the spot on my desk where my laptop usually is. My baby crashed on me. I felt like one of my arms was cut off. It's amazing how much a part of my life my computer is, it's my connection to the outside world. I kept forgetting it wasn't there and would head to my desk to check e-mail, or see if my sister was online in ym, or see what was happening on Two Peas or Diversity Designs. True I still had acces with Lucas' laptop, but have I mentioned that his keyboard is the French configuration and that he doesn't have a mouse? Just wasn't the same.

Luckily all is well, I have my baby back now. Almost intact too. I did lose one folder of photos that I had saved on my desktop. Note to self: don't save important files on your desktop and then forget to tell the person who is fixing your computer so that he can save it before reformatting your hard drive. But it could have been a lot worse.

So my task for the next little bit will be to continue backing up my photos on CD. Nothing like a scare to stop you procrastinating!

Glad you are going again. When we lost power for a week I had major internet withdrawals. Had to go to the local college to use their internet. I was desperate.
