A small breakthrough in the scrapbook industry for me. I applied to be on the Design Team at Diversity Designs, but because of being international they weren't able to offer me a position at the moment. However they do want to work with me and offered me the chance to moderate one of the forums, as well as to write a regular column of my choosing on their main site!
I am so excited by this, I really believe in what Roselyn and Rashida, the owners are doing with this site. And the community is wonderful, we have a truly diverse membership of scrapbookers and other paper crafters, and I am learning new things every day.
It's a small step, but yet it's huge because it is the first one, and it really motivates me to keep on trying in the industry. If my favourite thing to do could someday become the way I make my living I would be the happiest person alive. Lucas and I discussed this over the weekend and I know he will support me all the way. I certainly never considered myself an artist, definitely never thought that I could make art my job, but now I am asking myself why on earth not? There's certainly nothing to be lost by giving it a try is there?
So wish me luck.........

Congrats can't wait to see your contributions to the site...
Wow, never thought of you as an artist! Guess you never know what life will hand you. I mean, look what I've ended up with as a hobby - and if I coud make a living from it I would be really happy.
Franny, you know you are an artsy fartsy to the core - you will do great! I have learnt that it is very important to love what you do for a living so go for it!! Good luck and if you ever need someone to count all your money, I am the finance person (smile).
francine, i'm thrilled to be co-moderating the scrapbooking forum with you on diversity designs. keep your head up and keep thinking positive because one day you will make it big time!!!! ;)
I'm so happy for you! Glad you're moderating us on diversity designs. Congratulations Fran!
It's Rolana known as divagirlrn on diversity designs.
Ok, I'm glad to know that it was France that was the issue (if there HAD to be one)...I admit, I was surprised when I didn't see your name on the DT list, since I was pretty sure you had applied and thought you'd be a shoe-in!
I'm glad to see you're able to be so visible on the site in other ways. And I *love* that Gemini layout of yours! I hope you're submitting it to your favorite mag, because it's a winner!
